Terms of Sale

These terms apply when you buy First Flake: Josie's 7-Trip Field Workbook and its bonus guides (the "Product") from firstflake.com. In these terms, "we" and "us" mean First Flake.

1. What you're buying

The Product is a set of digital PDF files: a 41-page workbook and four bonus guides, plus the 16-page Junior Prospector Family Pack if you add it at checkout. Nothing is shipped. You get download links right after payment, and the same links are emailed to you. They stay active for 7 days, and we'll send fresh links any time you ask.

2. Price and payment

Prices are in U.S. dollars. PayPal processes all payments, including debit and credit cards. We never see or store your card details.

3. Your license

You may download, print and use the Product for yourself and your household, including printing pages for family trips and kids. You may not resell, share publicly, or upload the files elsewhere. If you want copies for a club or class, email us and we'll work something out.

4. All sales final

Because the Product is a digital download delivered instantly, all sales are final. If you have trouble downloading, we'll send you fresh links. See our Sales Policy.

5. About the content

Josie McCall and Grandpa Ezra are fictional characters created with the help of AI. The geology, techniques and safety guidance are real, and we wrote them to be accurate. The Product is general education. It is not legal advice and not financial advice. Rules on where and how you may prospect vary by state, land type and season, and they change. Always confirm with the landowner or the managing agency before you dig. We make no promise that you will find gold.

6. Your safety

Rivers, cold water, rising water and old mine workings can cause serious injury or death. You are responsible for your own safety and for anyone you bring, especially children. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for injury, loss, fines or damage arising from your use of the Product. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for it.

7. Changes

We may update the Product or these terms. The version in effect when you bought applies to your purchase.
